Publisher Paradox Interactive has delayed Cities: Skylines 2’s console release once again.
The game was initially slated to arrive on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 alongside PC in October last year. However, this date got moved to spring, before getting bumped back again to October of this year. At this time, the team said it had been “struggling to get Cities: Skylines 2 to the necessary level of optimisation for a console release”.
Now, the game’s console launch isn’t going to be in October either, as the team has “not yet met the stability and performance targets” it had set for Xbox and PlayStation.

A developer who worked on Rockstar’s scrapped GTA 5 single-player Trevor DLC has discussed the project’s cancellation and expressed regret it never saw the light of day.

The existence of GTA 5 single-player DLC, in which fan-favourite character Trevor Philips would have taken a starring role, has been discussed previously, and fans have wondered for some time if they’d ever hear more on why it was never released – though the sheer magnitude of GTA Online’s success always seemed the reason why Rockstar ultimately priotised its resources there.

Now, speaking to YouTube channel SanInPlay, former Rockstar senior camera artist and virtual cinematographer Joseph Rubino has discussed his work on the project – and why it was cancelled.

Xbox owners in the US will be able to play and purchase games directly from the Xbox App on Android from November.
The change follows the ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Google. Earlier this week a US judge ruled Google runs a monopoly via its smartphone app store, meaning third-party storefront apps must now be made available from the Google Play Store.
This has opened the door for Microsoft, meaning players can now purchase Xbox games on Android devices and then immediately stream them through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead – the upcoming game inspired by the film franchise of the same name – is set to include an optional microphone feature that allows its creatures to detect any real-life noises made by the player.
It’s called the ‘Microphone Noise Detection’ feature, and pretty much does what it says. Essentially, if players choose to activate their mic when playing The Road Ahead, any cough, sneeze or sudden announcement from a loved one that it is time for supper could give the location of your in-game character (a young asthmatic college student named Alex) away.
This, developer Stormind Games has said, will all help to bring the “horror right into your room”, which sounds more than enough to scare the John Krasinskis out of me.

Ghost of Yōtei, the newly revealed follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, will have a less repetitive open world.
Sucker Punch’s Nate Fox and Jason Connell, creative directors on Ghost of Tsushima, were interviewed by The NY Times to discuss the sequel, due out next year on PS5.
“One challenge that comes with making an open-world game is the repetitive nature of doing the same thing over again,” said Connell. “We wanted to balance against that and find unique experiences.”

And maybe the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, and maybe a Days Gone remaster. Yes, we live in a world where remasters and remakes rule (give us Bloodborne you cowards!).
The newly unveiled PS5 Pro will also feature, in all its exorbitant expensiveness, as will myriad announcements of game-enhancements for it. Pre-orders for it open on Thu…

UPDATE: A correction: Take-Two’s report detailed below that lists GTA 6’s planned autumn 2025 launch date was in fact first published in July, pre-dating the more recent rumour of a delay. Our original story remains below:

Take-Two Interactive, publisher of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, has recommited to the game’s planned autumn 2025 launch window after recent rumours of a delay.

This month, speculation of a GTA 6 delay sparked internet chatter that Rockstar’s long-awaited project had been pushed to 2026.

Now, in its newly-released annual report, Take-Two Interactive has doubled down on the game’s publicly-confirmed release timing – and said GTA 6 will still launch in around 12 months’ time.

“Rockstar Games continues to invest in the franchise and plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 in the fall of calendar 2025,” Take-Two Interactive wrote. “The label released its first trailer for the title in December 2023 and will share more details over time.”

Last week, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that half a dozen Rockstar employees he’d spoken to had heard no word of a delay to the game – although that didn’t rule one out if executives had mad…
